It's call "Lag Switching" ... in most games is a cheat, but in Dust 514 is a game feature, since you are allow to choice what region server you want to play without Ping restrictions. |

Good question... but a better question is ;
Why CCP haven't identify one of the most common cheats in FPS games ?
That is why most FPS games game Ping restrictions to stop Lag Switching. |

200 / 250 is acceptable for most FPS.. that will allow you to play in USA servers from the EU, for example. Having a ping restriction will also stop the severity of the "Lag Switching" cheat... at the moment is very noticeable, and a HUGE exploit. |

Common dude.. Not even close! I-Śm pinging from 0-8 here in Iceland running on a VDLS connection. Anything over 20-25 and you should be looking for a new internet provider.
I don't think you understand ping very well... even if the server was in you own home, you will NEVER get a 0 ping... or even 8. The Physical ping is not the same thing as the actual ping.. because you ping is constantly changing, it never stays still, it will jump from 8 to 40, than back to 20, then up to 80... and so on. The Physical ping is just an "average". |

i know and im TELLING you australians will never have low ping, yet i do see some people who can constantly keep their ping under 10
Which is why an average of 200 ping is acceptable ... most people, even full "Countries", don't have super fast internet connections. If CCP wants to carry on this Global experiment, they going to have to be very smart with pings and lag compensation. |
